Tim Wood - Play Birds (socialcd07) We proudly present our fourth album release this year, the debut album “Play Birds by Tim Wood. A soundtrack with songs, grooves and ideas that were inspired by birds.
Tim Wood is an Dutch-born composer, arranger, musician, whose jazz and classical training earned him success as a soundtrack composer for different dance theater performances. He is inspired by the audio verité of classic film composers like Lalo Schifrin and Ennio Morricone as well as the usual stable of dancefloor innovators and a large cast of jazz-soul pioneers. Tim’s production is appropriately spacious and theatrical, though usually focused on club consumption as well.
Tim like to watch birds, try to think as a bird, try to be free as a bird. He probably is a bird. A strange bird ? Perhaps he is. But we believe he is a cool bird and when you listen to his music you probably understand why.
Tim Wood is comfortable in his music and uses lots of different colors, sounds and rhythms. Writting, playing and producing it all by himself. He plays the drums, a beatle-bass, some funky guitars, percussion and an old Philacordia organ. He invited also some friends in his studio to jam with other instruments as the indian sitar, classical violins, saxophones and trumpets. Tim is deeply rooted within the 60’s sound, influenced by funk, the psychedelic 60’s orientated rock, a slice of the bollywood vibes and jazz improvisation.
Where can you put this music ? We believe this music can be played everywhere, because it’s free. In the living room, in theater or even the dancefloor. It’s free as a bird. Tim Wood is a Play Bird.
