Zachery Crawford

Zachery Crawford is a Cork-based musician and composer with a deliberately retro sensibility and a taste for smooth, West Coast, seventies-inspired sounds. His album The Future Was Disappointing builds on the promise of his debut Hello Stranger with bolder arrangements, sharper songwriting and a lot more fun.

Recorded in just five days with a tight band of Dutch session musicians - including Phil Martin on drums and production, Edwin in 't Veld on guitar, Ton van der Kolk on bass and Cees Trappenburg on flugelhorn - the album captures the energy of a band playing together in one room. From cosmic disco grooves to jazz-tinged ballads, bossa nova to seventies soft rock, Crawford moves between styles with ease while keeping everything connected by lush synths, rich harmonies and a warm, nostalgic glow.
