Blue Fever
Listen
No soft standard blues here – Randy’s Boogie Squad delivers an exciting mix of rock ‘n roll, swing and swampy blues.
The band has no interest in contemporary trends. Randy’s Boogie Squad blends elements from legendary predecessors like Jimmy Reed, BB King, Ray Charles and Elvis Presley with contemporary influences from artists like Los Lobos, Dr. John and Ry Cooder. Combined with their own musical creativity, this makes the band one of the most exciting blues acts around.
Randy’s Boogie Squad doesn’t go for instrumental showmanship. The emphasis is on creating an intimate atmosphere with plenty of room for both rousing and subtle songs. Randy Derkhof (vocals and guitar) wins over audiences in no time with his bluesy soul voice and raw guitar work. Together with guitarist Tommy Punt, harmonica player Kees Elsman and the swinging rhythm section of Ton van der Kolk (bass) and Timothy van der Holst (drums), they form one of the most exciting and promising young blues acts of their time.
